This is Not a Pen is an ongoing series of float pen commissions.

The first float pen was produced in the early 1950s and continue to be manufactured by Eskesen, a company located outside Copenhagen, Kathrine Ærtebjerg's home town.

Kathrine Ærtebjerg was invited to design one of the first three pens that have been created. These pens, each in a Special Launch Edition box, were presented for the first time during the Frieze Art Fair.
